A scary night! It could have been so much worse!

It could have been so much worse and I am so happy that everything worked out and that myself and my car are ok.

The other day I had to go out of town for work to another city about an hour away from where I live. I hadn’t driven on the highway since getting my license and I was slightly nervous about it but then I wasn’t if you can understand what I am trying to say. Any ways my dad had taken me out to where I had to go a few days before so that any anxiety would not be an issue because I knew where I was going and how to get there.

I have a lot of anxiety but over the years I have learned how to mostly overcome a lot of it. For me the anxiety of driving is not driving its self but its the getting into the car that I get anxious about once I'm in the car I am anxiety free and feel pretty calm.

So the day came and I had to get into my car take a few deep breaths and make my way to the highway I was able to make it to where I was going with no real issues other than that one stupid transport that is being risky on the highway but when do you not have one of those. I went and did my day of work and was finished around 9pm. I got into my car and headed for home. The lights on my car are automatic so I didn't have an issue just starting up the car and heading on my way. I don't drive very much at night and had never driven on the highway at night so this day was just a bunch of firsts for me.

I'm trucking along on the highway doing 110 and the highway is pretty quiet at this point there aren't a whole lot of cars on the road which was nice compared to earlier in the morning. I see the sign for the town over from where I live and I am relieved to see I am almost home as it had been a long day. All of the sudden my headlights shut off! So here I am first time driving at night on the highway going 110 with no lights in the pitch black. Let me tell you at this point there is a ton of swearing going on as I am playing with the knobs to my left trying to get my lights to come on not able to see in front of me and I can here I'm off on the shoulder because I can hear the grinding of the beveled parts to tell you your going off the road. I can't pull off to the other side of the road because there are construction cones so I'm trying to think of what the hell I was supposed to do. I turn on my signal light to see if that is working and to hopefully show anyone that might be behind me that I am in the road ( I didn't even think to put my hazard lights on till later). Low and behold my friggin lights came back on right after turning my signal on!!

I of course told Siri to call home and swore up and down to my parents telling them what just happened! I am so glad that I didn't run into the median or go off the road and I was able to keep calm enough to keep going but holy crap!

I am thankful for myself and my car to be alive and unharmed! You better believe ole Bessie is going in for a check up sometime this week.

The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy *WEDNESDAY REVIEW*

Holy Crap this book!! This was such a good book I highly recommend it to everyone and anyone! I don't have time to read a lot as I am usually pretty busy with work and being a single mom and what not. If you have been keeping up with this blog then you know that I have challenged myself to read at least 5 books this summer and this was the first book I had to read and let me tell you it took me all of 4 days to read it! This book was defiantly a page turner I had a hard time putting it down. I will say it did get a little confusing at times because the book is mainly about 3 different characters and each chapter is through the eyes of one of those 3 characters and I would get confused between 2 of the main characters but by the end of the book it didn't really matter it all comes together at the end. You also feel like you know whats happening in the book and it seems very predictable so you are just waiting for it to come out as what you think is happening and then boom something totally different that you weren't expecting at all happens and it's amazing! I have to say this is one of the best books I have read in a while and am going to be keeping an eye out for any other books that Aimee Molloy comes out with. I have honestly been talking about this book since I finished it and have given it to my mom for her to read it. So if you like an easy read and a good mystery with a twist this is very much the book for you! I don't want to give too much away as I don't want to  kill the mystery and the awesomeness of the twist but lets just say when I got to the twist I was like holy crap!! So this book gets 5 stars ***** and a 10/10. Now on to the next book!

Potty Training struggle at 4yrs

There are days where I sit down in a room alone and throw my hands up in the air and scream inside with frustration. I have heard so many stories of parents that have amazing potty training experiences or that it took a while but once they got it they were good to go and no more issues. Well this isn't the case for us ours is a little different from most that I have heard of.

It took forever for L to be potty trained don't get me wrong I started trying to train her at 2 1/2 but she refused. finally when she was 3 she started to get it and was doing really well she was going all day and night with no accidents and was doing great. She was out of diapers and pull ups and wearing her big girl underwear to daycare at home and to bed. We had finally rid our house of Diapers and I was so happy it was so much easier. Well a few months after she was potty trained and things were going well she got kicked out of daycare because our daycare wanted to take a kid that was going to be staying as we were going to be leaving in a few months as L was going to be starting school, No big deal I work from home so I made it work.

Well that first week home was horrible its like a switch went off and my child forgot everything about being potty trained she peed her pants at least 8 times the first day! 8 FRIGGIN TIMES!! She wasn't having accidents at night just during the day. I had no idea what to do about it I tried putting her on time outs but felt bad because I wasn't sure if she knew what was happening with her body maybe she didn't know that she had to pee maybe there was something wrong with her that she couldn't control it.

Time went on and she got a little better but we were still having random accidents every once in a while which I didn't totally get angry at as she was only just 4. finally we got back to where we were no accidents everything was good. Dun Dun Dun!! School started and so did the peeing of pants. I ended up making a deal with her that if she could go the whole month without having an accident that she could get a hatchimal (something she had been begging me for). The month came and went and she did pretty good she had one accident and I let it slid as it really wasn't her fault. All was good again or was it?

Fast forward a few more months and she started having accidents again! Like what is going on with this kid she has always been good with not peeing the bed and for some reason one week she peed every single night and not just a little pee like a lot of pee. She was having 2 accidents at least twice a week at school and I was struggling trying to understand her. I ended up making a drs appointment to go get her checked out as I was at a loss. We went and got asked a bunch of questions they ran some tests to see if she had an infection or something else wrong with her. We then went and she had an Xray to see if she had a blockage. Nothing, Nothing was wrong that the Dr could find so he told me he was going to refer me to a Paediatrician. Well that was in march and we still haven't gotten a call.

As of today L is in goodnights at night because she's not comfortable going without them at night now as she fears she's going to have an accident  which I totally get. During the day she has gotten a bit better but she is still having accidents at least once a week.  So at this point I'm at a loss and struggling to figure out what to do with her or how to get this under control. Maybe its something that we just need to wait out. I'm hoping that I can get a handle on it during the summer and we can get back on track.

Thanks so much if you have read this far! Please if you have any insight or suggestions Comment below because I'm going to loose my mind!

5 Book Summer Reading List!

Summer reading list! I very much enjoy reading but I never have time to do so but this summer I am determined to read 5 books. It is a big challenge that I am going to attempt but I really want to succeed with it. I went through my books I currently own and haven't read yet and then went and bought a couple more the other day to make up my 5 books.

Book 1

The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy

This book I saw and read the description of when I was "window shopping" on chapters website one day it wasn't out yet but low and behold it was at the store the other day and I had to get it.

I just recently found out as well that they are making this book into a movie. Hopefully I can finish it before the movie comes out.

Book 2

The Bad Mother by Amanda Brooke

This is also a book I bought the other day and thought If I am reading about the perfect mother might as well read about the bad one too. haha!

Book 3

Into The Water by Paula Hawkins

This is by the bestselling author who wrote Girl on the train the reason I bought this book was really because the cover drew me in. I'm a sucker for a good cover.

Book 4

The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White
Chapters link to book here

This is a book I have had for a while now and just haven't started reading it yet. I in the past have been way into teen fantasy fiction I'm big on easy readers so we will see how this one is.

Book 5

Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult
Chapters link to book here

I have had this book for a couple months now and I think I started reading a couple pages of it but haven't gotten into it just yet I have read one other Jodi Picoult book and it was pretty well written so I had bought this one thinking that I was able to get through the other one I should be able to get through this one.

So there it is my summer reading list fingers crossed I can do this! Wish me luck!

The Plan and more

Well I am starting to get a plan into motion of posts and trying to get things ready to have scheduled posts and what not to keep up with this more. I am going to have posts at least once a week right now if not a few more ideally I would like to have 3 times a week Monday Wednesday and Friday posts. In the past I have done Wednesday reviews which I would like to keep up with I am currently working on putting together a couple reviews on some new stuff I have bought recently or something that I have gotten samples of in the mail.

So the plan is to keep going with this revive it and build it up. Wish me luck!

One thing about this summer that is different from last summer is the fact that I have my license now and I have a car where as last summer I didn't have either so we were pretty much stuck at home. I am planning on doing some little adventures with L this summer and make it fun for her and I. I have a list of thing I want to do this year. We have already done one of those things which was going to the zoo and that will be in another post in the future. So stay tuned for that one!

Updates and other stuff!

Well it's been a hot minute since I was on here and actually posted something. It's crazy how fast time goes by and you don't even notice its going so quickly and then it slaps you in the face. These last few months have been crazy for me hence why I haven't been on here much lately and haven't written on her much either. I have been trying to make some changes in my life which I have had ongoing for as long as I can remember. I have gotten myself a personal trainer she comes once a week to my house and trains me for 30 min. Let me tell you she doesn't let me off easy this girl is making me sweat. I am working on getting myself back into eating better which is really a hit or miss most days some days I'm really good at it and then others I'm horrible but what else is new. I have been working on keeping my cardio up between training sessions by doing 30 min walks or swimming and other random things to keep me moving.

L is and has gotten so much bigger in the last few months and I can't get over the fact that in 2 weeks she is going to be 5 years old. I feel like it was yesterday that she was born I can still remember the day so clearly like it happened yesterday. L and I share a room and up until last month she was sleeping in a toddler bed and I was in a double so we had to figure out how we were going to fit the 2 of us in the same room together while still giving us enough space to live in the room. The only logical thing was to get a bunk bed! L is the happiest kid in the world right now hahaha. So I a 28 year old just got my first bunk bed and let me tell you I'm not complaining I friggin love the thing. I find I am getting so much more work done since we got it. It's like my own little space that I just sit in and work in any time of the day and night. It really has changed a lot of things and our room is so much cleaner and organized.

My plan for the next few posts which I am fingers crossed bit my tongue going to be posting on here again more frequently. I have a few product reviews I am planning on doing. I am thinking I am wanting to do some sort of weekly update on whats going on in our world and a few other posts that I have yet to come up with.

SO until next time!!

She's so sweet!

Oh what a day today has been! Today my dad asked if L and I wanted to go to the store with him. I of course said yes because your girl loves...
