As kids growing up my parents would always surprise my sister and I with going to "the movie in the sky", The drive in and we thought it was the coolest thing in the world we still do! I have been excited since L was born to take L to the drive in for the first time it is one of my fondest memories as a kid and I wanted L to have those memories of her own. So last summer my sister and I decided that we would take L to the drive in the first chance we got.
Instead of just going to the drive in we decided to make a day of it we went and got dinner and then we went early to the drive in and got a good spot. We then proceeded to go play mini putt that was attached to the drive in. so basically that day we did 2 things for the first time with L Drive in and mini Putt. The day we chose to go there really wasn't any real kid movies like animated ones so we ended up going and seeing Alice through the looking glass and Avengers. We made a bed in the back of my sisters truck with a blow up mattress and pillows and blankets. It was pretty comfy thats for sure. L was super excited for the whole night.
At this point we were trying to get L to potty train but she wasn't really into it yet and was still in pull ups. We were near the end of the first movie and L yelled I HAVE TO GO POTTY! So we ran into the concession and went to the potty and she actually went! I was so excited that we went and got her a treat on the way out. She ended up going potty again on the potty 2 more times that night.
By the second movie we were all pretty tired L had fallen asleep and I wasn't far behind her. I still haven't seen the end of the second movie or the middle really. I ended up waking up in the middle of the credits with L cuddled up next to me in the back of the truck she had drooled all over the front of my shirt. She slept all while I put her in her car seat and all the way home until the next morning.
I will never forget my girls face that day and how happy and excited she was. When I look back at the pictures you can see the twinkle in her eyes and the happiness.
She can't wait till the summer so we can go back and I can't either!

Gymnastics!
So this weekend we did something that L has been dying to do since forever! We went to GYMNASTICS!! L's face was ear to ear smile and she was jumping up to down saying gippy gippy cause thats how she says Yippy and its the funniest thing. I have never seen my kid so happy it was really awesome.
This weekend was open gym day for kids to come to the gym and try it out go on the equipment and see if they like it and to be active. I was surprised at how brave L was and how much upper body strength she has that I didn't even know she has. The best part for me other than L's excitement was that it was FREE!
I was very happy with L and how well she did at the gym. There were some kids that were running around the gym wild running in front of kids and not waiting there turns even older kids, L stuck to the gym rules which was one kid at a time on the equipment, she waited her turn to go on it all and was just over all good.
In the gym they have a the big ropes hanging from the ceiling for kids to climb up and swing on L ran straight to it when she first saw another kid use it and swing from one block to another she HAD to do it as well. She waited in the line and when it was her turn she held on to the rope and freaked out slightly and then threw herself over the edge of the block to the next one. She proceeded to do this non stop for a good 10 minutes if not more.
L's next great feat was the trampoline. She has been on a trampoline before and loves jumping but the trampoline at this gym you can see through it all the way to the ground below and that scared her. I ended up having to go on it to show her that it was ok to go on. She ended up sitting down on the mat on the edge and slowly creeping onto the trampoline by herself she then stood up and started jumping and that was the end of it she wasn't scared anymore and kept going back to jump on it over and over.
We ended up staying at the open gym the entire time they were open so just over 2 hours and let me tell you when they hung up that giant rope tears were shed and my girl was pissed. L ended up huddled in the corner crying 1 because she was exhausted and 2 because she absolutely did not want to leave.
NOW I have to figure out how to make it work for her to go to gymnastics and actually learn cause she loved it so much and I think it would be great for her. It is now on my todo list of things that I need to figure out in life. It seems to be getting longer and longer haha.

Bedtime accidents
Aww my poor baby! L took forever to potty train she pretty much refused to for a while and that was fine I just kinda went with it tried to get her to try using the potty it was a no go. Finally just one day it clicked for her and she was done with pull ups. She has only had 2 accidents since that day and those were at daycare. When it came to bedtime I tried to give her a little more leeway with it and kept her in a pull up for a few months after she was fully Day trained. I started to notice that she wasn't having any accidents in her pull ups she was getting up in the middle of the night to use the potty it was all good behaviours that I was looking for her to start. So pull ups are now a thing of the past in this house. I do put an accident pad on her bed underneath her sheets just in case but I have only had to change it once and that was tonight. My poor girl came crying to me so defeated she had peed the bed. Poor thing was balling her eyes out she was so upset at herself. I told her it was ok and that accidents happen because they do accidents happen. It was probably my fault anyway we had stayed out later than normal and she was pretty tired and we forgot to get her to go pee before bed. My sister heard her crying and came to help. We took her wet cloths off her gave her a quick bath which she was also upset about and cried the entire time. I changed her sheets peeled the bed pad off which I still have residue stuck on my fingers from how sticky it was. Jammie's changed bed cleaned and she's asleep within minutes. I felt so bad for her but I knew there was no reason to get mad her for it what good would that do. Live and Learn! We will definitely be making sure that we go pee before bed every night and I may move the potty closer to her bed so there is less distance between the 2.

Empowering Myself
I have been single now for 2 years and yes sometimes its lonely but I'm kind of happy with it. I'm working on doing things for myself and L not letting anyone tell me I can or can't do things, not having someone tie me down and control certain aspects of my life. My last relationship I was in was a doozy. I didn't really understand how bad it was until it was over and I got out of it. Both L and I are a lot happier not being in that relationship anymore. It held me back I was being made to feel bad because I was working and trying to build something for myself. I'm working to build a life for L and I that we don't have to depend on anyone else and thats the life I want, I want to be able to say hey I did it I got here without a man. I am a strong, intelligent, and happy woman and that is exactly what I want people to see in me. In the past few months I took a huge leap and quit my part time job. My income is solely based on what I bring in with my business I am mine and Ls sole provider now I have to get my butt in gear everyday to bring home the bacon. I know I can do this and I know that in the next year big things are going to happen for us. I went and started my driving lessons so that I can get my license which will be a big step in becoming that much more independent. I can't wait for our future and what is to come for us I can't wait to see what I can do with my business this year I just can't wait for everything!

Audiobooks.com
So I have recently been into audio books and started getting them through Itunes but I wanted to find something that was easier to use. I ended up searching and finding Audiobooks.com and was surprised at how much there really is in audiobooks. It's a monthly subscription for about $14.99 and you get a credit each month for a new book to read. when you sign up you get a free book cause your first month is free. You can make a wish list of all the books that you are wanting to read/have read to you and then when you have a new credit you can go ahead and read away! so far I am on book number 2 and really happy about it. I am a generally busy person and love to read but unfortunately never have time to just sit down and read a book as much as I might try it just never happens. This allows me to read the books I have been wanting to read while I do the things I have to get done during the day. So if you are looking for a good Audio book app I would defiantly recommend Audiobooks.com!
I'm Back!!
Wow it has actually been forever since I last wrote anything on here. A lot of things have changed that's for sure. I'm currently laying in bed listening to L snore in her bed I find it so funny how much noise one little person can make at night if she's not snoring she's talking
In her sleep or she's doing both haha. I'm having a hard time getting to sleep tonight so I thought what better time then now to go through my emails and clean out my inbox and then I realized that this blog was still active and sitting here all lonely for over a year now. So I thought what the heck lets get this puppy going again. So here I am making the first blog post on here of 2017! It was just the other day that I was sitting on my computer thinking gosh I miss blogging well here I am. Hello again world! Well it's been a while and here's the update I'm still a single mom. I still live with my family (still have a house goal). I now work for myself and no longer work for a company so I work from home yay! L starts school this year (OMG I can't believe she is getting so old). At this point L is still in daycare but will only be there for another couple of months while I get some things sorted out and then she will have 2 months home with me. :) I'm so excited to have her home with me everyday during the summer I'm positive she is going to love it too. She is so excited for school she can't wait. I'm excited as well cause with me now working for myself I can make my own hours and actually try and enjoy the summer with L instead of having to get up and go to work every morning or night. Don't get me wrong I work everyday anyways but I get to make the hours and say hey I'm done working for the day whenever I want so it should make for a good summer. Well I'm going to leave it at that tonight and I will hopefully get back to this and try and post More regularly! Night!

Hectic
My life has become a non stop hectic roller coaster. Between having a 2 year old who all of the sudden has a problem with listening to working 2 jobs, sleep deprivation and trying to save as much money as possible while still keeping up with the bills not to mention that I'm basically doing it all on my own with support from my parents and sister as once in a while babysitters. You know you work a lot when your child notices it. My dad asked me to come and help him with something while I was in the midst of editing and L goes "no papa mommy is working she's working ok papa," at that point I knew it was time to put the work away and have some L time. I hate when I don't always get to see her but I know that I have the best intentions. I'm trying my hardest to build a life for us. To be continued (I'm falling asleep writing this)
